Quite the Suitable Headphones for My Tastes

Please know that I am not a subject matter expert when it comes to headphones. Also know that I merely intend to share my opinion(s) and observations with you. What I type is not irrefutable fact.

I like the GS3000x headphones because of their comfort, the listening experience that they provide, and the material that they are made out of.

Comfort
When I place these on my head, they feel light and comfortable. They don’t exert pressure on my head or jaws, and the ear pads don’t rest upon the cartilage of my ears (both have happened to me in the past while using different types of headphones). I have worn them for about five consecutive hours before, and I felt fine throughout that time period.

Provided Listening Experience
For ears as undiscerning as mine, I can only type that anything that I listen to sounds fuller or more whole with these headphones.

I’ve listened to background game music and sound effects while playing video games, shows (such as ones on Netflix, Hulu, or Crunchyroll), and lossless audio files from my personal iTunes library.

When it came to the video game-related audio, my experience was made greater. I played Gran Turismo 7 quite a bit, and I noticed things while using these headphones that I hadn’t noticed before. The Doppler Effect sounded more authentic whenever I happened to overtake an AI racer very quickly. I also noticed that the engines for certain cars make distinct sounds while you are within certain rpm thresholds in various gears (I especially recall the Dodge SRT Tomahawk S’s engine veritably humming while in gears one to three). During the replays once a race concludes, the engines of the various cars that the camera captures passing by repeatedly all sounded more genuine. I mention all of this because I had been playing the game for hours before I acquired these headphones, and I had been using a pair of Sennheiser HD 660S2s (which are a great pair to own, I’d say; they just squeeze my head enough to cause some discomfort at times). I was aware of the sounds in the game, but the GS3000xs seemed to add a layer of detail to them all.

That added layer of detail was apparent while I watched shows and listened to lossless audio files as well. Again, I think that the overall sound just always sounded fuller or more whole (I can’t think of a different way to describe it). I wish that I could give a more technical explanation of precisely how that is the case, but I cannot (alas).

Material
I definitely feel as if the materials from this pair of headphones will last for a long time, especially if the owner takes good care of them. Most things last a long while when this is the case, but I also feel as if these headphones were just made out of material of good quality to begin with.

While people’s opinions and experiences will inevitably vary, I truly believe that anyone that purchases the GS3000xs will be pleased with the listening experience that it provides. Furthermore, I’d be willing to wager that a consumer could have the “Grado experience” (as I call it) with any pair of the company’s headphones (so you wouldn’t have to spend over $2,000 on this pair to get that quality listening experience at all).

Has the best been made better? Yes!

The GS3000x is sublime, detailed, spacious, and wide-spectrumed. I love it. When I started listening, I was getting more enjoyment out of the songs I chose than ever before.

I have a few Grados (PS2000e, GS2000e, PS1000, HP1000, GS1000i, GS1000, GH-1, GH-2, RS1e, RS1i, RS1, RS2e, RS2i, RS2, Hemp, GW100, Bushmills, HF1, HF2, HF3, SR325i (golds), SR80i, SR125, SR125i, and both their GR8e and GR10e IEMs, as well as both their HPA-1 and RA-1 amps).

I very much resonate with the “I can’t describe why” of reviewer Weldman. Side by side with the GS2000e, these GS3000e have more bass, a somewhat less bright high end, and a larger feeling of spaciousness, but both sound fabulous on certain test songs I listen to frequently. Yet the GS3000x gives a subtle, long-term, enduring excitement to the music, more so than the already perfect GS2000e.

The Most Powerful Yet

The GS3000x is the first headphone to utilize our new 52mm X Driver. Specifically tuned to embrace the tenacity of cocobolo and precision of metal, this new speaker design features a more powerful magnetic circuit, a voice coil with decreased effective mass, and a reconfigured diaphragm. Reengineering these components for our first 52mm drivers improve efficiency, reduces distortion, and preserves the harmonic integrity of your music.

New Cable & Headbands

Along with the speakers, the cables and headband have been redesigned for the GS3000x. Housed in a more durable exterior, the now super annealed copper 12-conductor cable reveals even more of your music with improved purity. The new black leather headband features a white-stitched accent.
